About Me

I am an experienced Speech and Language Therapist who really enjoys working with children of nursery and school age .  Having had two children of my own who needed Speech and Language Therapy input, I have an insight into the sometimes difficult and emotional journey for parents when identifying, and securing, flexible and bespoke support for their child.

This has driven my decision to purposefully keep my case load small,  so that I can offer a bespoke and flexible therapy service to the parents, children, and young people I support.  I also work hard  to tailor and create fun therapy sessions,  not only to meet the child’s individual development needs, but also to ensure that sessions are enjoyable and motivational.

I enjoy working with Parents and other Professionals, including the NHS, to ensure that there is a ‘joined up’ approach to my practice, therefore maximising the child’s outcomes.

I specialise in a range of Children’s Communication Needs,  including Speech Development and Speech Disorders, Verbal Dyspraxia, Selective Mutism, Stammering,  and Language Development.

I studied at Birmingham City University where I gained a 1st Class BSC Honors Degree in Speech and Language Therapy. I went on to work for many years in the NHS before setting up in independent practice.

I am an active member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), The Association of Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice (ASLTIP),  and am also registered with the Health Care Professionals Council. (HCPC).  I hold a current DBS Enhanced  certificate.

I  live just outside of Rugby and practise in Rugby, Hinkley, East Coventry and Lutterworth.  I also cover the surrounding areas which include the villages and towns on the Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire borders.  I can also support children from further afield if parents are willing to travel.

I can offer therapy sessions,  in the home, nursery, or school, on a flexible basis.

I’m always happy to chat through with parents how I can help their child, so that an informed decision can be made in relation to the next steps.  There is no obligation inrcslt calling me, I am happy to ensure you have the opportunity to consider all the pathways available to you when securing support for your child.
