This will give you information about support for children and families with speech and language difficulties. You can also download and print advice and information sheets on a range of communication difficulties

Talking Point

This will give you information about speech and language development and give you suggestions on how you can support your child.

ICAN

This is a charity that helps children with speech and language difficulties. It provides information for parents as well as training and advice for teachers and other professionals.

British Stammering Association

The British Stammering Association supports individuals who stammer and their families.  It has lots of information about stammering and how you can support your child.

Michael Palin Centre for Stammering

The Michael Palin Centre for stammering has lots of information about stammering and courses that they run for parents, children and teenagers.

SMIRA

The Selective Mutism Information and Research Association is a Registered Charity supporting families and professionals involved in the upbringing of selectively mute children.   There are free resources for families and other professionals too.

RCSLT

The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. RCSLT is the professional body for speech and language therapy. Its aim is to promote excellence in practice and influence health, education and social care policies.

HPC

The Health Professionals Council. HPC is the regulatory body which ensures that all health professionals working with the general public meet specific standards.

ASLTIP

The Association for Speech and Language Therapists in Independent Practice. Here you will find information about the association that supports independent Speech and Language Therapists.
